2. run of the European championship of the youth in Emmen, NL
The raceway at the MSV Motodrome in Emmen was prepared best. All the rain from Friday could not change it, but in the paddock some people got wet feet. On Saturday right to the beginning of the training and the introduction of the teams the sun was shining.
All races worked out well and everybody, promoters and race leaders were happy. Almost 300 drivers of all classes were woken up friendly by the speakers on Sunday morning. The weather turned worse, there was rain, a lot of wind and a thunderstorm coming up during the day. Even though, the races, the 3. and the 4. run could take place like they were supposed to. In the end the participants and the audience could see happy faces at the victory ceremony in the tent.
The youth in the classes 85ccm big wheel and MX2 was racing to collect points for the European championship.
John Cuppen (MON from NL) was able to succeed clearly in the three turns in the 85ccm. In the 4. run he had to give up the guidance because of a bad start. He could just ride up to the fourth rank. Anyway he was the best in the ranking list of the day in front of Nollie Klytman (MON) and Rick Folkerts. So there were only Dutch drivers on the podium. Best “Not-Dutch” driver was Robin Goldammer (DAM) on rank 12 of this class.
John Cuppen is starting with 371 points in front of Tom van Iperen (MON 356 points) and Davey Jassen (MON 332 points) in the final run of the European Championship in Rongee, Belgium.
Also the MX2 class was controlled by Dutch drivers. Jeroen de Groot was the winner of the day in front of Rambo Tausch and Bennie Ter Horst. Theis Andersen (DMCU) from Denmark could keep his 1. grade in the European Championship ranking list, although he just drove up to rank 5 during the day. He is starting the final European Championship race in Rongee, Belgium with 393 point, followed by Rambo Tausch (MON NL 387 points) and Parick Melichar (CAM CZ 338 points). They all still hope to win the title.
